This is what I woke up to yesterday....
And today I hiked up to the rock behind my house that I use as my own personal sanctuary and this is what I got to bask in...
I cannot begin to tell you how quiet this rock was this morning. I heard woodpeckers, chipmunks, and every other living creature you can think of. I could see every airplane overhead because there was not a cloud in the sky. Solitude takes practice. It's a discipline for me to sit in quiet alone with my thoughts and alone with my Lord. I try to do this atleast once a month and it refreshes me to face another month. I pray about every relationship in my life and evaluate how the heck I'm doing from my marriage to motherhood to mentoring. I do not hear an audible voice from God, but He speaks to my heart through His creation and through this stillness. After about an hour, I started then having visions of a mountain lion attacking me in my sanctuary, so I decided I was refreshed. Find your sanctuary this week and sit in total quiet. I know you too will be refreshed!

OH how I wish I could be sitting next to you on that rock. Probably wouldn't be great for solitude, even if we tried really hard. Love you! xo
